Trudy Skari works spontaneously, joyfully, intently. She experiments with form, surface and visually poetic concepts. Although she focuses on animal sculptures, there is something recognizable in each piece, as human — as “us” not “other.” Collectors of her work have always delighted in her quirky titles and narrative sculptures . Trudy’s unique sense of humor, keen observation of body language and facial expression, and her philosophical background are evident in her ceramics. She practices her art in a studio along the shore of Flathead Lake and out at the Archie Bray Foundation.
Andrea Cross Guns is constantly evolving her practice of artful color, form and playfulness. Her current body of work is interactive, and includes three-dimensional elements on painted wood panels. During our opening, there will be a bucket of bits and pieces of natural objects and found objects for gallery visitors to place into Andrea’s paintings. Each piece also includes a hand-written poetic “fortune and Andrea hopes people are energetically drawn to the piece that has the perfect fortune for them.
