Eliza Weber

Eliza Weber recently completed her MFA at Arizona State University. Originally from Great Falls, she received her BFA from The University of Montana.

My work is an abstracted reflection of the world around us. Growing up beneath a vast sky encouraged gazing upward. I record clouds, trees, mountains, flowers, and rocks. They become characters of the land, interacting and engaging with each other.

Artist Statement

My work is an abstracted reflection of the world around us. Functional work becomes a canvas for my interpretations and appreciations. With an intention for use, the work reflects on interrelationships and our connections with others, objects included. Often influenced by the arrangements in nature, designs emphasize the asymmetrical. Growing up beneath a vast sky encouraged gazing upward. I record clouds, trees, mountains, flowers, and rocks. They become characters of the land, interacting and engaging with each other. Mostly soda fired to accentuate uniqueness, intentions balance between curiosity and playfulness.
