2020 Kids Summer Studio Series

Yay! Kid’s Summer Studios are On!

We want to keep our customers, community and staff healthy. In light of the current environment, we changed our educational program to reflect social distancing and safety guidelines. Smaller class sizes, individual supplies, new workspace arrangements in the classroom and the possibility of individual studio sessions will keep everyone healthy!

What will my kids learn during the 2020 Summer Studios?

Maureen likes to tailor the summer to what the kids want to learn. When we all meet each other on our first day, we will finalize the schedule of topics for the 8 studio sessions w.  We won’t get to everything on the list this summer, but if all goes well, we will have after-school studios for kids in the fall and winter, leading up to next year’s 5th Annual Young Voices exhibit.

When can I register my child?

Registration for kids, tweens and teens summer art studios opens May 28th and closes June 9th. This gives us enough time to obtain the supplies and tools so each child will have their own.

Please note: Registration is for the entire series of eight classes.

Covid-19 measures in place at 1+1=1:

    • Decreased class size to 4 students per group allowing for plenty of social distancing space. Classroom tables will be arranged to allow for 6 feet of space or more between everyone. </li)
    • Each student will have their own bin in our classroom, with their own supplies. This way we don’t have to constantly sanitize every paint brush, oil pastel and carving tool. Supplies provided by us.
    • We’ll emphasize washing hands, not getting too close to each other and making sure high-touch surfaces are cleaned regularly. (eg bathroom, door knobs, etc.) I have hired a studio assistant to do extra cleaning and help me keep track of social distancing.
    • Masks encouraged at least until Gov. Bullock relaxes that standard. I am very sensitive to my students’ health and their family members’ health, so I am open to wearing a mask all summer if any parents feel strongly about that. I just really want to protect all of us as best we can.

*Please remember that our entire educational program is subject to change based on information we receive from the CDC and Montana Health Department, for the health and safety of our community. If we must cancel a class, or move to online Art Zooms, we will be glad to refund your registration fee, or give you credit for future classes at 1+1=1.
