FEATURED ARTISTS:

Dan McArdle has been showing at 1+1=1 Gallery for many years and has some fantastic new carvings on display. In this exhibit is a piece McArdle considers his best native Montana grass carving, perfect as a statement piece for some lucky buyer. We also have two of McArdle’s sought-after trout stream carvings. Dan will be at the open house to answer questions and talk with you about possible commissions as well as how he makes his magic happen!
Bozeman artist, Boyd Carson joined our artist roster a couple of years ago. His turned wood vessels are exquisite examples of a woodworker thinking outside the box. Customers always wonder how Carson turns his delicate, lightweight vessels — the process may be simple, but it seems like magic. His latest artworks push the notion of “vessel” beyond expectations, including some outside-the-box wall pieces. Come find out how he does what he does!

Master woodworker Tim J. Carney is co-owner of 1+1=1 Gallery. Carney has been creating furniture and cabinetry for over 50 years. Hundreds of Helena folks live with and love his exquisite furniture, and he is constantly busy making custom designs for new fans. Tim’s artistry focuses on bringing out the beauty and grace of “flawed” wood, helping us connect to the spirit of nature through his furniture. This year Carney is showing several of his signature “urban organic” furniture pieces – a gorgeous keepsake cabinet; a graceful live-edge sofa table and a brand new Tim-style walnut and curly maple rocker!
