About Cheri Thornton

I make porcelain ceramic wares for everyday use and enjoyment. I love drawing on pottery—creating designs of abstract, geometrical, or metaphorical images. By playing with line and form, I follow my curiosities while thinking about the relationship between user and object.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Ceramics from the University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth, and am a former resident artist of the Archie Bray Foundation for Ceramic Arts in Helena, MT. Currently, I maintain a pottery studio in the foothills of Helena, Montana where I live with my husband and our four, wild and wonderful, children.
