Dawn Endean

I have been making art for over 40 years and have been working primarily as a printmaker since 2010.

My process involves building layers using a combination of intaglio plates, painting on plexiglass and collaging. Because of the intricacy of this layering, I work primarily in monoprints or small series of related prints.

Artist Statement

In recent years I have been fascinated with the dogs that I encounter. I have been taken with the vulnerability of these animals; how dependent they are on the luck of the draw. They accept their lot; often with joy, loyalty and sweetness. Any love, kindness and attention they are shown is freely returned, magnified one hundred fold.

My process involves building layers using a combination of intaglio plates, painting on plexiglass and collaging. Because of the intricacy of this layering, I work primarily in monoprints or small series of related prints.
