August First Friday in Helena Montana

1+1=1 Gallery and The Herb & Garden are co-hosting a 4-hour sidewalk-cafe´ together during the August 2015 Downtown Helena First Friday!

Please join us at our 4-hour “North-End” Sidewalk Cafe´ where you can enjoy free fresh fruit-waters, lemon and limeade, guacamole, salsa and chips that Cindy and Maureen are serving inside their shops. We hope to have live music too!

Our current exhibit will still be up during First Friday at 1+1=1 Gallery. This will be the last weekend to see wood fired ceramics by Gregg Edelen, ceramic sculpture by Susan Mattson and textile art by Carol Wilbur.

1+1=1 Gallery focuses on contemporary fine art, representing 17 local artists and other artists from Montana and the Pacific Northwest. Exhibits rotate about every 5 or 6 weeks and there is a permanent showroom in our Back Gallery with works by all of the artists we represent. We also teach kids, teen and adult art classes and host Sound Gallery, a monthly new-music performance series.

The Herb & Garden, where you can find locally grown, organic herbs and flowers and lots more.

Cindy Hanson’s diminutive flower shop holds much more than flowers, and she would love to entertain you with the delicious smells of fresh herbs, unusual containers and locally made jewelry and crafts. This is the only place in town where you can buy organically grown herbs and cut flowers.

After you’re satisfied by the crunch and smack of guac on chips at our shops … check out all the other businesses that stay open for your pleasure on Helena’s First Fridays — downtown merchants are here to serve you with locally-sourced, locally produced, unusual and unique things in our shops. And, don’t forget to continue your evening with wine, tapas or dinner at the Hawthorn, Toi’s Thai, Benny’s or one of the other yummy downtown dining establishments.
