March 29th — Girls Art Night is All About Experimenting with Image Transfers
Learn how to transfer old photographs, vintage illustrations or your own drawings onto canvas, wood or cloth.
From 2pm to 5pm, you will make a 12×12 inch canvas mixed-media piece with image transfers, collage materials and paint. While the image transfer is drying, you can plan out your collage and get the other materials ready to apply to your canvas. There will also be an opportunity to transfer an image onto muslin cloth or a flat piece of wood.
Using the methods Maureen will share, you can make something beautiful and unique, whether you consider yourself an artist or a shy-artist-to-be. Come have fun with friends and new friends. Get in touch with your own creativity and learn a new technique you can use in many different ways.
- Cost for the evening gathering is $24 and includes materials, supplies and beverages. Participants are invited to bring a potluck finger food or dessert.
- Your registration fee helps support the gallery and we thank everyone who participates!
- The gathering is limited to 8 participants because studio work-space is limited. You MUST register and pay ahead to reserve your space.
- Here is a link to our Facebook event page for this Girls Art Night — lots more photos, examples of what we’ll be making and some resources you can look at before the class. See you there!

Girls Art Night is a regular event in Brown Bird Studio located in the back room of 1+1=1 Gallery. Girls Art Night is held on the third Thursday of each month. The gathering is limited to 8 participants and there is a minimal charge to cover materials, instruction and studio expenses each time.
We get together, share some wine, tea, coffee, potluck finger foods and dessert and we make art. It’s always a fun and creative way to spend a couple of hours on a weekday evening.
Check back often on our gallery’s Events page and blog to find out about monthly art making sessions and other classes.
