We invite you to an opening reception of our upcoming exhibit, “Young Voices” on the evening of Oct. 30th, at 1+1=1 Gallery. Please come support these young artists, ages 9 to 13, in their first group exhibit in Helena.
Artists featured in the exhibit are Adia Terry, Ema Terry, Hannah Martin, Lily Hamper and Phil Martin. These five artists have participated in summer creativity/art classes taught by Maureen Shaughnessy and have spent the month of October learning the behind-the-scenes of exhibit planning, promotion and organizing.
Starting Them Out as Young Curators: the students are framing, titling and pricing their work; making gallery labels, promotional materials; writing artist statements and preparing 1-minute artist talks. They will all help hang the show, make appetizers, and attend the reception so the public can hear their talks and ask them questions about their artwork.
All artwork will be for sale during the exhibit which extends from Oct 30th through November 7th.
20% of all sales during exhibit will be donated to four local organizations to purchase art supplies: the Holter Museum of Art, The Friendship Center, Mountain Bluebird School and Green Arts Montessori. The recipients of their donation were decided upon by our group of artists.

Fall Art Walk: if you cannot make it to the opening reception, the exhibit will be open Tuesday through Saturday from Oct 30 through Nov. 7th. The group of artists will also be available during the Downtown Helena Fall Art Walk on November 6th.
