Sound Gallery Performance Piano Jazz

…for a delightful evening of all-original piano compositions at Sound Gallery … Bob Packwood, Helena pianist and jazz musician will do a workshop-style preview of his original tunes that will be recorded in the near future for a solo album. This is your chance to hear his “babies” before the general public gets to hear them. Don’t miss this evening performance in a beautiful art gallery space with a small audience. Deep listening. Date Night Idea

Drop in between 5:30 and 7pm and stay for a few minutes or as long as you’d like to listen to this fine group and enjoy some great Irish-inspired food and drink! It’s a great idea for date night — many downtown businesses are open, including restaurants, galleries and boutiques, for your fun and convenience. First Fridays have been going on in downtown Helena for over a year and are gaining popularity and momentum. You can even paint your own painting at Corks n Canvas at the Holter Museum of Art after you come by the shops on the 400 block.

Renovate Refuel Stretch Grow Evolve

Well, 2016 is well under way. Tim and I are busy getting ready for another year of exhibits, classes, concerts and events at 1+1=1 Gallery. We are stretching our physical space by adding some functions to the basement. We are growing our group of artists by adding new artists to our roster. And we are evolving what we offer at the gallery by holding more classes, performances and different types of educational events.

We learned some stuff in our first couple of years of running the gallery. We are still tweaking things like how long to run an exhibit and which times of month are best for opening nights.

Brings a Super8sonic Lap Steel & Film Soundscape

Sound Gallery will present its first performer of the “Fall/Winter Season” on October 16th. Scot Ray, a multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, currently homesteads in a small mountain town in Southwestern with intermittent excursions to wield his slide guitars in a variety of odd and captivatingly obscure projects including Gutpuppet, Drift & Throttle, Roughnecks, and the Tee-tot Quartet.

Tari Nelson-Zagar at Sound Gallery July 24

Tari Nelson Zagar, of Seattle Washington, will delight and amaze us with her solo violin performance at Sound Gallery. The concert starts at 7:30 pm July 24th in Helena, Montana. Sound Gallery is located at 1+1=1 Gallery and is the only venue in Helena offering original, new experimental music for small audiences. Please join us at Sound Gallery in the atmosphere of a fine art visual gallery, enjoy a glass of wine, local ale or fresh citrus water; sit back and experience a sound adventure.
